Adam Waterbear DePaul, Tribal Storykeeper and Director of Education, Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania
Teri Hislop, Clan Mother and Keeper of Traditional Craft, Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania

Join us for a rich and personal exploration of the culture and heritage of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania in collaboration with the Woodmere Art Museum. In this four-part online course, Clan Mother Teri Hislop will discuss how Lenape stories are told through art and traditional craft, and Adam Waterbear DePaul will talk about his curation of Lenape exhibitions and explore problematic representations and interpretations of indigenous cultures in galleries, museums, and media.

Each session will dive deep into a different aspect of Lenape culture, and you’ll end the series with a deepened understanding of the art and culture of the Lenape people.

The Lenape are the indigenous people of eastern Pennsylvania, western New York, New Jersey, and northern Delaware. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of Lenape history while continuing the preservation and revival of the language and cultural traditions.
