Foraging and Cooking with Tama Wong Saturday, April 5 • 10:30 am Spring is the time when people are tired of winter root vegetables, but it is still too cold for most farmed vegetables. This is the perfect time to explore the bounty of forageable, delicious "weeds" right at our feet in the Mid-Atlantic region! Join Tama for a morning of exploring the most delectable of these wild plants in the Morris’s meadows. Registration is required. Moonlight Discovery Walk Thursday, April 10 • 6:30 pm Morris Arboretum & Gardens Just before the April full moon—the 'Pink Moon' in old farmer’s almanacs—blooms in the sky, join us for an after-hours wander through the Garden. Discover tree silhouettes against the moonlight, listen to the sounds of the night, and maybe hear the hoot of an owl. Registration is required. Magnolias and More Saturday, April 12 • 11 am Meet at the entrance kiosk Explore the spring beauty of flowering trees on Magnolia Slope. Free with general admission. Birding at the Morris: Wetland Wednesdays Wednesday, April 16 • 8 am Morris Arboretum & Gardens Explore some of the best spots for spring birding at the Morris Arboretum & Gardens! We will visit the Morris’s natural areas including wetlands, meadows, and the woodlands along the Wissahickon Creek. Registration is required. April Storytime Wednesday, April 16 • 10:30 am Outdoor Classroom This month, we’re reading Listen to the Language of the Trees by Tera Kelley, a story of how forests communicate underground. Free with general admission. Children’s Yoga: Whimsical Woods (Ages 2 – 7) Thursday, April 17 • 11 am Morris Arboretum & Gardens Join us for Whimsical Woods Yoga, a fun adventure for kids ages 2 – 7 years and their families! In this playful class, kids will explore the Morris, do fairy and gnome poses, dance like magical creatures, and make nature-inspired drawings. Registration is required.
